2014 Cal Poly Learn by Doing Commons Charrette - Mustang multi-use center
President Jeffrey Armstrong and dean Theodoropoulos invited Cal Poly architecture and landscape architecture students to participate in a design charrette to develop proposals for a future Poly Learn By Doing Commons. The goal was to design spaces that promote interdisciplinary collaboration across campus.
The Horse shoe shape and cutted skin form to represent the Cal poly mascot "Mustang". This multi-use center provides studios, shops, class rooms, food court, recreation area, gathering space, gallery, convention center for each students at cal poly, which creates a interactive environment for different field of students to interact and understand each other.
